Safeguarding & Child Protection

At New Bishop Cotton Public School, the health, safety, and absolute well-being of every child is our paramount priority. We are fully committed to creating an environment in which all students feel respected, secure, and protected from all forms of harm.

Core Principles

• The welfare of the child is paramount in every decision we make.
• All children have an equal right to protection from abuse, regardless of background.
• All staff and volunteers have a legal and moral responsibility to act on any suspicion of harm.
• We work in active partnership with parents and relevant external child protection agencies.

Digital Safeguarding (E-Safety)

• All school networks use enterprise-grade firewalls and inappropriate content filters.
• Students receive formal training on digital citizenship and data privacy.
• Personal mobile devices are restricted during school hours to prevent cyber-bullying.

Reporting Concens

The school has an appointed Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) who assumes responsibility for dealing with all safeguarding issues. If you have any concern about a child's safety, please report it immediately.
